6- ليالي المبحرين

الليلُ يحضنهُ السُكونْ
والركبُ قد أرخى الجُفونْ

وحدي مع المَوجِ الشَجـِ
يِّ كـأنّـه وَتَــرٌ حَزينْ

فوقي السماءُ وقد بدت
أبـراجُـهـا للعالَمـيـنْ

أرنـو إلى بيتٍ حوى
عَيشي على مرِّ السنـينْ

فأرى به صور الصِبا
وأرى بـه الأمَّ الحَنونْ

أرنو إلى أرضِ الكويـ
تِ ، ديارِ أهلي الصابرينْ

القـاطنينَ مع النـدى
السـاكنينَ مع اليقـينْ

الشامخينَ على المدى
الأوفياءِ المُخلصينْ

القائمينَ على الحِمى
الذائـدينَ عن العَرينْ

إنـي أتوقُ إلى اللقـا
ءِ ، إلى ليالي الحالمينْ

The Sailors' Nights

Stillness shrouds the night, so deep,


The sailors finally fall asleep,

Lonely am I with the waves that bring,


A note of sadness on a cheerless string,

High up extends a shining sky,


Its stars like gold buttons to the eye,

I long for a house that watched me grow,


From innocent childhood to youthful glow,

In it I recall the kindest mother,


My youth's pictures and many other,

I long for Kuwait my dearest land,


The country of the brave who proudly stand,

The ones who love generosity,


The ones who tend their amity,

The ones who live in loyalty,


The ones who die with dignity,

The ones who live with certainty,


With care, with faith, with sincerity,

To our reunion I yearn and long,


To the land of mighty dreamers where I belong.
